Below is information and application for a Patrol Officer position.
Career Opportunity- City of North Mankato Police Officer
Lateral and Entry Level 

The City of North Mankato lies approximately 80 miles southwest of Minneapolis/St. Paul along the bluffs of the Minnesota River Valley. With a population of over 14,500 North Mankato is neighbored to the east by the City of Mankato and is a key part of the region for retail trade, agriculture, medical care, manufacturing, and education. 
Officers enjoy working in a community with robust support from residents and businesses. 
Officers residing within North Mankato are allowed take home squad cars during the days that they are working.  
Minimum qualifications: 
-MN POST Board licensed or eligible to be licensed at time of application 
-Valid driver’s License

Lateral entry qualifications:

-Four (4) or more years of current and continuous full-time peace officer experience in good standing.

-Demonstrated professional growth: continuing education, specialized training and/or experience, additional work assignments (e.g., FTO, CISM team, SRO, U/F instructor, etc.) 

Pay ranges: 

-Lateral hires with four (4) or more years of continuous sworn law enforcement service will be eligible to be hired at Senior Patrol ($93,535 annually- 2024; $96,341 annually beginning in 2025). Lateral entry officers will also receive 45 hours of banked sick and vacation time to be used in accordance with city policy and collective bargaining contract. 

-Lateral hires with less than four (4) years’ experience are eligible to be hired at Patrol First Class ($89,148 annually- 2024; $91,822 beginning 2025) When an officer’s total years of full-time law enforcement service equals 6 years, they will be eligible for Senior Patrol pay.  

-Those with no experience are eligible for pay range $80,496 – $84,840

-Psychological pre-employment screening
