Lincoln County Climate and Health Resilience VISTA
 
 
 
This position joins Oregon Health Authority’s statewide AmeriCorps VISTA team. In addition to activities at your individual site, each member receives additional orientation, training throughout the year, team meetings, and the support of the team leaders and project director based at the state public health agency. Selections are made on a rolling basis and early applications are strongly encouraged. The last day to submit an application is February 26, 2024. Lincoln County Public Health serves Lincoln County, Oregon. We are a small county and a small public health team, working throughout the county. Our team uses health equity, data, policies, systems, environmental changes, and a range of programs and services to improve community health. We prioritize people and communities with limited resources. We rely on partnerships with community-based, academic, and other organizations. We leverage regional, state, and national public health expertise and practices. We listen to the people we serve. Member Duties : The AmeriCorps member will consult and collaborate with individuals and organizations to develop culturally responsive climate and health messaging and tools. Create a flexible annual Climate and Health evaluation plan while engaging diverse partners, including indigenous youth, in identifying and generating meaningful qualitative and quantitative data to inform local and culturally appropriate climate actions. Strengthen relationships with community-based organizations that represent and serve diverse populations. Identify community resources needed to help address climate impacts. You will serve remotely and in a professional office. Applicants should be independent, motivated, reliable, and have strong writing and intercultural communication skills. Bilingual English, Spanish and/or Mam speaking preferred. AmeriCorps VISTA members serve Oregonians indirectly by building capacity and programs that endure for years.
