Ohio installs NaloxBoxes at state buildings with tools needed to help someone overdosing
In collaboration with the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy and RecoveryOhio, Ohio has installed what are called NaloxBoxes at state 0ffice buildings.Nine boxes were installed in publicly accessible areas in each building.The boxes contain tools needed to help someone who has overdosed. “The shift to more potent opioids requires solutions that will keep our fellow citizens alive so that they can enter drug treatment,” State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy Executive Director Steven Schierholt said in a statement. “As a common-sense way to protect Ohioans, I encourage other organizations to consider installing NaloxBoxes to increase the accessibility of this life-saving medication.” Officials said installing the boxes makes naloxone more accessible to Ohioans.For more information, visit www.pharmacy.ohio.gov/naloxbox.
