Duane Piccirilli, Executive Director of the Mahoning County Mental Health and Recovery Board was recognized for his work in the community with The 2022 Partnership of the Year award from Direction Home of Eastern Ohio, an area agency dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of older adults and those with disabilities.

Piccirilli and his team at the Mental Health and Recovery Board work to ensure an accessible system of mental health and addiction, prevention, education, advocacy, and recovery services for residents of Mahoning County.

This work includes partnerships, collaborations, funding, and programming with agencies such as Direction Home.

"I feel that the mental health recovery system needs to work hand-in-hand with Direction Home, especially with suicides so high in the senior population. It’s a great partnership," Piccirilli shared about receiving the award.

Joseph Rossi, CEO, Direction Home of Eastern Ohio said “Knowing Duane for almost 30 years, helping to make connections, and finding solutions is something that Duane has always succeeded at and we are pleased to honor the partnership we have with him at Direction Home of Eastern Ohio.”

Rossi added "Duane has been a true advocate for older adults and those with disabilities in our community for many years. He was an important partner in the development of the Crisis Intervention Program and is an integral part of the ongoing success of the program.”

Direction Home of Eastern Ohio, formerly known as the Area Agency on Aging 11, serves residents of Ashtabula, Trumbull, Mahoning, and Columbiana counties.
