Help Those in Need - Donation Drive

Did you know there are many people in our county and across its many cities and towns that lack the financial resources to buy basic essentials such as Soap, toothpaste, diapers, deodorant, tampons, and toilet paper? Shocking that federal assistance including SNAP and WIC do not allow the purchase of "non-food" items. Those experiencing homelessness and living in or near poverty often go without these essential items we take for granted. There are girls that don't go to school when they have their period because they lack hygiene supplies. Moms and dads that reuse disposable diapers or do not change them often enough because they are so expensive and not covered by food stamps. Often families with babies will sacrifice buying medicine or necessities to buy diapers. (914)Cares and Kids' Kloset are collecting the following items which will be provided free of charge to local families and individuals living in need. Make a difference in the lives of those struggling.****There is no volunteering activity with this drive. It is simply an opportunity to drop off the donated items at Iona College, Spellman Hall on this Saturday, January 18th between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM as part of our MLK Day of Service. Once you have donated your items, you are free to go. This is a donation drive for (914) Cares as part of our MLK Day 2020. **** Please donate some of the following items (all must be new and packages must be closed) The only exception is we will accept open packages of diapers but all other items must be sealed and new.Thank you so much! *baby Wipes *Bar and liquid soap *body wash *deodorant *diapers (all sizes) *socks (all sizes male and female) *shaving cream *Tampons *Toothbrushes *toothpaste *toilet paper *tissues *Underwear (male and female all sizes from 2T (toddler) to Adult XXL You can drop these off at Iona College, Spellman Hall on January 18, 2020
