The Coastal Edge East Coast Surfing Championship

Known as the oldest running surf contest in the World, the Coastal Edge ECSC has recently celebrated 110 years of surfing in Virginia Beach, with several hundred surfers from Menehunes to Masters competing for East Coast surfing titles, prizes, history and sheer love of surfing.

Other beach oriented sports and recreation include the Coastal Edge Thrash Bash Skate Bash, the Vans Pro of surfing for both men and women, and a BMX activation to awe guests throughout the event.

There are plenty of opportunities to feel the energy of the ocean outside of the thrilling extreme sports on the beach throughout the week of the Coastal Edge ECSC. Each year, you can expect unique activations such as the international surf museum to showcase Virginia Beach's surfing history, over 20+ vendors from international brands, food and drink concessions, unique local culinary experiences, a swimsuit contest, and premier live music entertainment on the beach. With this many options, there are endless ways to get involved and participate in this years Coastal Edge ECSC.

Getting Around

 

Ride Share in Virginia Beach

Virginia Beach's "Ride Share" transportation program provides for infrastructure to support on demand services such as: Uber, Lyft, and Freebie. The easternmost northbound lane on Atlantic Ave. from 9th to 12th Street has been designated a drop off/pick up zone for this purpose.

 

HRT Route 34 Oceanfront Connector

Saturday - Sunday, 8:00 am to Midnight about every 15 minutes
 

Route 34 provides service from Parks Avenue and 19th Street to Atlantic Avenue and 22nd Street via 19th Street, Birdneck Road and Virginia Beach Blvd. Route 34 will service the Convention Center, Virginia Beach Sports Center, the Vibe Creative District and Atlantic Avenue between 17th and 22nd Streets.
