This project, in cooperation with Fairfax County, built a pedestrian and bicycle bridge and shared-use path in the vicinity of Route 123 and I-495 (Capital Beltway).
Based on results of the preliminary engineering phase of the study, and extensive community outreach and input, the Option 2 alignment was selected for final design.
Phase 1:
During the first phase of construction, a new bicycle and pedestrian bridge over I-495 was built along with a ten-foot-wide shared-use path from Tysons One Place and Fashion Boulevard to Old Meadow Road and Provincial Drive via the bridge.
Phase 2:
During the second phase of construction, the shared-use path along Old Meadow Road will be completed from Provincial Drive to Route 123 (Dolley Madison Boulevard).
