Gregory Brown

Biography

My primary areas of teaching and research focus on the anatomical and physiological factors that influence health and human performance. My research evaluates the effects of nutritional supplements on the physiological response to exercise, the physiological responses to various types of exercise, effective teaching in the exercise science program, and sex-based differences in sports performance. I am a member of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM; https://www.acsm.org/) the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA; https://www.nsca.com/) and the he Association of American Educators (AAE; https://www.aaeteachers.org/). 

I have been recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine for my research endeavors in the field of Exercise Science.  I greatly enjoy mentoring undergraduate students in the research program offered at UNK, such as the Undergraduate Research Fellows and Summer Student Research Program.

My wife, Amber, and I have two adult sons and an amazing daughter-in-law. My hobbies include running, hunting, fishing, studying history, and watching movies.

I am very actively involved in my community of faith. 

I serve as the faculty advisor for Turning Point USA at UNK (https://www.tpusa.com/) and am actively involved in encouraging civic engagement in public policy.
