Celebrating Manufacturing Month 

In October, the International Trade Administration joins with U.S. government and industry partners to celebrate Manufacturing Month and the importance of U.S. manufacturing innovation and ingenuity to our standard of living. U.S. manufacturing is an enduring and ever-evolving sector that contributes $2.65 trillion to the U.S. economy, employs nearly 13 million American workers, and accounts for 10.3 percent of the nation’s GDP. Learn more about this industry and ITA’s work to help U.S. manufacturers compete and win around the globe. 

Manufacturing Month honors the success of manufacturers who export and encourages other manufacturers in the U.S. to start or expand their foreign sales. 

National Export Strategy 2023: Manufacturing

Manufacturing is a major section of the U.S. government’s 2023 National Export Strategy (NES). The report outlines actions being taken to boost the sector’s supply chain resiliency, strengthen support for trade finance, and promote acceptance of international standards.
