This study is being done to determine anti- and pro-inflammatory endocrine responses to exercise. The purpose of this research is to determine the blood signals that promote health and wellbeing in response to exercise at different intensities. We expect to find out if exercise induces long-term anti-inflammatory effects following skeletal muscle activation. Participants’ physical activity level will be assessed for one week by wearing an accelerometer (similar to a pedometer). Participants will then complete 2 baseline assessments followed by 3 assessment visits that consist of 30 minutes of exercise and 5 blood draws performed by a trained nurse. Three days before each assessment visit, you will be provided with all your meals. You would visit the Grand Forks Human Nutrition Research Center for an information and screening visit where you will be given information about this study and complete further screening to assure that you meet eligibility criteria for participation. If you qualify for and are interested in participating in this study, you will be scheduled for the initial two baseline testing sessions before initiation of the 3 assessment visits.  This study is being conducted by Dr. James R. Roemmich of the Grand Forks Human Nutrition Research Center in Grand Forks, ND.
