Office of Recipient Rights
From the Office of Recipient Rights:
We are happy to announce that we will offer monthly Zoom “Check-Ins” with the WCCMH Rights Office as an informal follow-up to our online Rights training. We hope this will serve as an opportunity for staff to ask questions, learn how and when to report to the ORR, and meet one of our friendly Recipient Rights Officers (Jessica, Leah, Sarah, or Shaun👋).

PLEASE NOTE: These check-ins are intended to be a follow-up to our online training, so please only attend the Zoom check-in AFTER completing the Recipient Rights & Confidentiality training on the LearnWorlds platform.
Medication Administration Training
- Starting in October, there will be a change to the Medication Administration provider test schedule. The testing classes will now include one evening, on Thursdays, 5:00 pm-7:00 pm, per month. Please find the training schedule here: https://www.washtenaw.org/2421/Training-Information.
- Please continue to follow the process of registering staff through Lindsay Gibson (gibsonl@washtenaw.org) or Brandie Hagaman (hagamanb@washtenaw.org). They will email a link for the online test and send information for the second test to the provider staff. Also, the second test will be held at Washtenaw County Learning Resource Center (LRC): 4135 Washtenaw Ave, Ann Arbor, MI 48108.
- Please encourage staff to review the self-directed PowerPoint, before the test, that is on the CMHPSM website at Training Resources | cmhpsm.

Network Management Updates and Reminders
CLS Change Request
- As a friendly reminder, if a CLS change request is needed (where more temporary hours are needed due to Doctors appointments, school closures, etc.), please make sure you are following the applicable time frames and entering the request into CRCT (if you are contracted provider) or by completing the form (if in a Self-Determination arrangement). If you need the instructions or form sent to you, please contact hungerfords@washtenaw.org.
Supporting Documentation Reminder
- Please make sure that all staff is completing and submitting detailed documentation as it is essential for quality care, good communication, and to prove state/federally funded services occurred. Please refer to our Progress Note Documentation of Services Tip Sheet for documentation requirements, which can be found here: https://www.washtenaw.org/2732/Forms
Claims
- Claims, for services rendered in FY22, must be submitted no later than October 15th and cannot be submitted in the same batch as services rendered in FY23.
- Secondary claims are to be submitted no later than November 15th.
- All appeals must be submitted 7 days after the claim’s submission deadline
Contracts
- Premium Pay is extended through FY23 for applicable services.
- Stay Tuned: New Employment Code and Modifier Changes Coming 1/1/2023.
Incident Reports
Per our policy, an Incident Report (IR) should be completed in our electronic health record, CRCT, as soon as possible, but no later than the end of the shift in which the incident occurred. If your agency needs to request access for staff who need access to the Incident Report Module in CRCT, please contact Shelby Duca: ducas@washtenaw.org.
Compliance
IPOS Training Log
The IPOS Training Log is required to show evidence that all applicable staff have been trained on a consumer's IPOS. Also, please ensure that the Case Manager/Supports Coordinator signs off on the IPOS Training Log after the IPOS training. The new IPOS Training Log can be found here: https://www.cmhpsm.org/training.
Home & Community Based Services (HCBS)
Written policy and procedures to support Home & Community Base Services will be required for future audits/reviews. The HCBS policies and procedure guides can be found on our website at https://www.washtenaw.org/2732/Forms.These documents are intended to assist applicable providers, who provide residential services (Licensed Residential Services) & non-residential services (Skill Building or Supported Employment Services) to assess their level of compliance with HCBS rules.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month
- In the U.S., about 264,000 women get breast cancer & 42,000 women die from the disease annually.
- About 1 out of every 100 breast cancers is found in a man.
- Most breast cancers are found in women 50 or older, but breast cancer also affects younger women.
