Reaching these goals requires city agencies to work together with residents, businesses, developers, advocates, funders, and each other. Planning and Development has a team of agencies that do just that. Our agencies include:

Job Description
The Art and Design Division oversees the Civic Design Review Committee, the Philadelphia Art Commission and the Philadelphia Housing and Development Corporation (PHDC) Percent for Art program. The Art and Design Division is committed to visualizing, promoting, and developing solutions to planning challenges that look to improve the quality of life and public realm for communities, residents, and visitors of the city. The primary responsibilities of the position will be to assist in the planning, creation and implementation of Art and Design programs and related reports.
Essential Functions
The position will include:
· Conducting research and analysis related to current planning efforts
· Assisting with field survey work
· Updating database sets and document reporting
· Supporting the drafting of digital and report content including renderings, document templates, etc.
· Additional special projects and administrative duties as needed
Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong design sense and graphic skills
· Strong analytical and writing skills
· Proficiency with graphics software including Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), SketchUp, GIS, AutoCAD or similar drafting software.
· Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
· Ability to work independently
· Strict attention to detail and ability to multitask
· Show flexibility and responsiveness to time-sensitive tasks identified by Art and Design Staff
· Positive attitude and willingness to take initiative and pick up new tasks as needed
Qualifications
Must be a current student in a Bachelors or Masters program of City Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or related field.
