Summary

This data release includes tables and plots of results for pesticide compounds (pesticides and degradates) analyzed in groundwater samples collected by the USGS National Water-Quality Assessment Project during water years 2013-18 and in associated quality-control samples that are used to assess the quality of the reported pesticide results. All samples were analyzed by the USGS National Water Quality Laboratory (NWQL) using laboratory schedule 2437. The table of groundwater data includes pesticide results as reported by the laboratory, along with results that represent the application of censoring levels at the 90-percent upper confidence limit of the 95th percentile of laboratory blank concentrations determined by water year. Purpose

The groundwater data were collected by the USGS National Water-Quality Assessment (NAWQA) Project to characterize the occurrence of pesticide compounds in aquifers across the United States and to evaluate the potential relevance of detections of pesticide compounds to human health. The quality-control data were collected by NAWQA, the National Water Quality Laboratory (NWQL), and the Quality Systems Branch to allow assessment of the quality of pesticide results produced by NAWQA sampling methods and NWQL sample analysis using laboratory schedule 2437, including estimation of bias and variability in reported results.
