Cerro Pelado Fire
45,605 acres, 95% Contained, 93 total personnel

Friday, 06/03/2022 - 1301 hours:
JEMEZ SPRINGS, NM – June 3, 2022
Firefighters will continue working south of NM Hwy 4 to reinforce containment fire lines and extinguish any remaining heat. Peralta Canyon remains the only area with active fire edge, and firefighters will focus on the final containment of that area. Initial attack firefighters are working with suppression repair while remaining ready to respond to any new fires in the area. As containment of the fire increases, the fire organization will begin to size down while continuing to be vigilant in monitoring conditions around the fire.

RESTRICTIONS/CLOSURES
The Santa Fe National Forest has implemented a forest closure due to the extreme fire danger. Stage 2 and stage 3 restrictions remain in effect for the Santa Fe National Forest, which prohibits entry into the forest without proper permits, prohibits all campfires and other hazardous activities. Due to ongoing fire threats, Sandoval County will not issue burn permits. Stage 3 fire restrictions are in effect for Pueblo de Cochiti and Los Alamos.
