West Austin Park Water Quality Improvement Project
West Austin Park Water Quality Improvement Project
The Watershed Protection Department is planning a project to improve water quality in West Austin Park. This priority project is located within the Lady Bird Lake watershed.
This project will improve water quality with the installation of a biofiltration pond that will double as a play field during dry weather conditions.
The project will also include other improvements like the installation of an ADA-accessible pathway circling the playfield and the replacement of stormwater infrastructure in the park.
We are currently in the Preliminary Engineering Phase for this project and will move into design later this year (2023). We plan to complete the design phase in 2024 and anticipate construction to begin in 2025.
