The King County Executive sent the recommended subarea plan to the King County Council on December 7, 2023. The Executive-recommended subarea plan and related documents can be seen here: Snoqualmie Valley/Northeast King County Subarea Plan - King County, Washington.

In 2024, the King County Council will review the subarea plan as part of the King County Comprehensive Plan update process. For information about this process, see the King County Council website or send email to CouncilCompPlan@kingcounty.gov.

This website serves as an archive containing information about how the Executive-recommended Subarea Plan was developed, including tutorial videos on the earlier public review draft and online survey results from multiple points during plan development.

About the subarea plan

The Subarea Plan outlines a 20-year vision for the community, along with policies to help achieve that vision. The Snoqualmie Valley and Northeast King County Subarea Plan is a part of King County’s 2024 Comprehensive Plan Update. The plan addresses the following issues:

  • Land use and zoning
  • Housing and human services
  • Environment
  • Parks and open space
  • Transportation
  • Services and utilities
  • Economic development

King County Local Services began working with communities in Snoqualmie Valley and Northeast King County in early 2021 to develop a subarea plan. Input from these communities is reflected in the Executive’s final subarea plan and in related actions that will be reviewed by the County Council in early 2024.
