My Brother's Keeper (MBK) Philly empowers Philadelphians to dismantle systems of inequality. The goal is to close opportunity gaps for boys and young men of color and create measurable change for youth. This program is part of the MBK Alliance, a nonprofit managed by the Obama Foundation. It is maintained locally by the Mayor's Office of Black Male Engagement.

My Brother's Keeper Action Academy

The My Brother's Keeper Action Academy is an initiative that hosts bi-monthly neighborhood-based community engagement workshops. These workshops are designed to provide the tools and resources needed by men and boys of color.

During an initial pilot phase, the MBK Action Academy will serve the following sections of the city:

• North Philadelphia
• South Philadelphia
• West Philadelphia
• Southwest Philadelphia
• Northwest Philadelphia
• Kensington/Frankford

The Mayor's Office of Black Male Engagement partners with agencies, community stakeholders, and anchor institutions to host relevant, empowering, and sustainable programming. Partners include:

The MBK Action Academy builds on the work of the Community Conversations Initiative, a past program of MBK Philly.
