There’s a chance low-lying areas of central Pennsylvania could see minor flooding Saturday afternoon as heavy showers and thunderstorms move through the area, according to the National Weather Service.
The agency issued a hazardous weather outlook this morning which warns of “showers and thunderstorms [that] may produce heavy rain.”
This weather could lead to “localized minor flooding,” forecasters said.
The outlook was issued for a number of local counties, including Dauphin, Cumberland, Perry, York, Lebanon, York and Lancaster.
The NWS said there is a low chance of widespread, hazardous weather.
Central Pennsylvanians may see areas of fog in the morning, then showers and thunderstorms are expected to hit after 2 p.m. Storms are likely before midnight tonight and showers could continue overnight.
There’s a 40% chance of showers in the early afternoon of Father’s Day, then the possibility of showers and thunderstorms in the evening. Other than the chance of rain, the NWS is expecting the holiday to be a sunny day with highs in the low-80s.
