The Pennsylvania Senate, at least its Republican members, want Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to know if they had their way the Pennsylvania National Guard would be on their way to help secure the border with Mexico.

The chamber, on a 27-22 party-line vote, passed a nonbinding resolution calling on Gov. Josh Shapiro to respond to Abbott’s request to governors across the country to send resources to combat the border crisis.
