Resolution Honors NTEU’s 85th Anniversary

House members are honoring NTEU and our members on the union’s 85th anniversary.

A resolution introduced yesterday congratulates NTEU on this milestone and recognizes the dedication and continued service of NTEU members. It was introduced by Rep. Mark Pocan (D-WI) and cosponsored by Reps. Nikki Budzinski (D-IL), Gerald Connolly (D-VA), Greg Landsman (D-OH) and Debbie Dingell (D-MI), and Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC).  Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) also introduced the resolution in the Senate earlier this year.

“NTEU members carry out essential functions of our government and are effective advocates for fair pay and benefits,” said Pocan. “To the workers of the NTEU, congratulations on your 85th anniversary!”

The resolution acknowledges NTEU’s growth from a group of Internal Revenue collectors in Wisconsin organized to improve their working conditions to a “powerful voice for the members of NTEU and for federal employees in general.”

It also commends the crucial work of NTEU-represented employees and lists their diverse and “outstanding” accomplishments.

“Whether advocating on Capitol Hill, at the bargaining table, or in workplaces across the United States, NTEU continues to make history through its accomplishments,” the resolution read.
