Christopher Petty

Program Specialist

Christopher Petty MS, an enrolled Bear Clan member of the Iowa (Baxoje) Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska, serves as a Program Specialist within NIFA's Institute of Youth Family and Community. Petty assists with competitive and capacity grant funding for 1862, 1890 and 1994 colleges and universities in collaboration with the Land-Grant University System, Cooperative Extension Service, federal agencies, and non-governmental organizations. Prior to NIFA, Mr. Petty served in 4-H and agricultural extension at K-State Research and Extension. He is a Ph.D. student at Columbia International University.  Mr. Petty received his Master of Science Degree in Adult Learning and Leadership at Kansas State University, and bachelor’s degrees in animal science and agricultural business from Kansas State University and the University of Central Missouri, respectively. He is a member of the National Association of Extension 4-H, Youth Development Professionals.
