Biography:
Seth Koslow, of South Merrick, took office on January 1, 2024 representing the newly redrawn Fifth Legislative District, which includes most of Freeport and Merrick as well as portions of North Merrick and North Bellmore.
Legislator Koslow is looking forward to working collaboratively with the residents of the Fifth District to deliver transparent, honest, inclusive and responsive representation with an eye toward a better future for all Nassau residents.
Uplifting the middle class by making Nassau County more affordable is a top priority, and Legislator Koslow will work with unions to create good-paying jobs, closely monitor County operations to identify savings for taxpayers, and advocate for the expedited disbursement of remaining American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) COVID relief money for organizations that serve our youth. He will also identify opportunities for locally supported affordable housing initiatives and advocate for infrastructure investments that will bolster traffic safety, protect our drinking water, and safeguard the environment from the growing threat of climate change.
Through his experience having served as a prosecutor and defense attorney and his immersion in the diverse communities of the Fifth District, Legislator Koslow brings a unique perspective on the issue of public safety to the Legislature. He is committed to working with law enforcement and community leaders to address inequities and build bonds between minority communities and law enforcement, preserve and enhance public safety, and promote solutions for improving enforcement of gun laws and hiring officers to tackle hate crimes.
ABOUT LEGISLATOR KOSLOW
Seth earned his Bachelor’s degree from American University and a law degree from Touro University. He became a Queens County Assistant District Attorney in 2013, a role he served until establishing his own legal practice, SIK Law, in 2016. Seth is admitted to practice law with the New York State and New Jersey Bars as well as the Federal Bar (Eastern and Southern Districts) of New York.
Seth is deeply involved in the community and remains active as a youth baseball coach with the Merrick Mayhem. He also taught college courses on Criminal Procedure and Criminal Law at Briarcliffe College.
Seth’s wife Jill operates her own local baking business. Together, they are the proud parents of Sam, Jaclyn, and Julia, and the family’s beloved canine companion – a rescue dog named Coco.
