Merritt Road Project Description
The City of Sachse is proposing improvements to Merritt Road from Pleasant Valley Road to north of Sachse Road for a total project length of approximately 1.6 miles. Proposed improvements include the following:
Widening Merritt Road to a four-lane divided roadway (two lanes in each direction) consisting of a 12-foot-wide inside travel lane and a 14-foot-wide outside shared-use lane for bicycles and vehicles
Constructing a hike/bike trail on the west side of the roadway
Realigning approximately 0.2 miles of Merritt Road to connect directly with Woodbridge Parkway and improving safety with a traffic signal at the intersection with Sachse Road
Raising the elevation of Merritt Road at low points to eliminate temporary closures due to roadway flooding
