The event will take place at Embassy Suites Rockside in Independence.

Pinsky replaces actress Maureen McCormick as the keynote speaker who could not attend the event due to a personal conflict, according to an Aug. 3 news release from The LCADA Way.

The LCADA Way, a private, nonprofit serving Cuyahoga, Lorain, Medina and Erie counties and surrounding communities, is recognized as a leader in wellness and addiction recovery, the release said.

“We are very excited to have Dr. Pinsky as our keynote speaker,” said Dan Haight, president and CEO of The LCADA Way, in the release. “His personal experiences working with people struggling with addictions and finding recovery will be sure to inspire all.”

Pinsky, known nationally as “Dr. Drew,” has been a ubiquitous fixture both on television and radio for the entirety of his multi-faceted career.

The combination of running a thriving medical practice while simultaneously cultivating a successful media career has resulted in an unprecedented reservoir of expertise, the release said.

His work as a doctor of internal medicine/addiction specialist and prolific broadcaster has imbued him with the rare ability to examine any issue through the lenses of practical experience, scientific evidence and pragmatism, according to the release.
