COLUMBUS — A welcome space was dedicated Tuesday at Ohio State's Harding Hospital Behavioral Health Immediate Care Clinic in honor and memory of Danielle Leedy, the inspiration behind 33 Forever.

Earlier this year, 33 Forever established the Behavioral Health Immediate Care (BHIC) and 33 Forever Endowed Fund at Ohio State with an initial contribution of more than $150,000 toward those efforts.

This dedication ceremony of the welcome space at the BHIC was attended by 33 Forever Board members, members of Dani’s family and dignitaries and key staff from the Ohio State University and its medical center.

“The BHIC and its programming are so important to and a huge step forward in the mental health arena for the heart of Ohio,” said Donna Heck, 33 Forever's president. “We are so pleased and honored to be able to support to OSU’s efforts and to do so in honor of Dani. The partnership we have been able to develop with Ohio State gives us another amazing opportunity to support important care options and help fund critical research in mental health. We couldn’t be more pleased to see this dream become reality.“

33 Forever, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by the family and friends of Danielle Leedy, a vibrant, strong, professional young woman who lost a long battle to chronic depression in February 2019.

It was created to honor Danielle’s life and her longtime passion to raise awareness, empower and comfort those struggling with the disease of depression, anxiety and finding self worth.

The BHIC program was initiated at Ohio State to close gaps in the continuum of care for people requiring behavioral health services. Among others, the program seeks to assist two particular groups of patients in need of continuous access to care —people discharged from an inpatient hospitalization and waiting to see a provider and people under outpatient care who are in crisis.

Same-day appointments are available and patients can seek care once or several times as needed.
