We believe in a connected nation, where every community is a part of the great American story.

Mission

We are the nation’s premier AmeriCorps service experience, advancing economic prosperity in rural and emerging communities. We lead shoulder-to-shoulder with our neighbors to realize the worth of every place, person, and possibility.

NATIONAL CORE CAMPAIGN:

Bridging the Digital Divide

In today’s world, broadband access and digital skills are an important foundation for economic prosperity in every community. Yet too many of our rural and emerging communities have been left behind - and our workforce, healthcare access, and agricultural economies suffer as a result.

Bridging the digital divide is a core campaign of the American Connection Corps and is an issue that unites all ACC Members as they serve across fields related to Economic Opportunity, Health and Social Capital, and Agriculture and Natural Resources. In 2021, Congress invested $65 billion of infrastructure funding toward broadband development and digital inclusion to connect the country. Through ACC’s training intensives and national support network, our members are equipped with the tools to understand how they can channel these resources, and many more, to their local communities.

THE ACC CREDO

PLACE

In an age of rootlessness,

we choose to commit to a place.

To cherish its local landscape,

to understand its past and embrace its personality.

We are the American Connection Corps.

PEOPLE

When society is polarized,

we choose to see people fully.

To reach out to the forgotten,

to serve alongside our neighbor, to draw unlikely paths together toward common ground.

We are the American Connection Corps.

POSSIBILITY

Where others have given up,

we choose to find possibility.

To build the infrastructure that brings progress, yet carries the timeless.

We are the American Connection Corps.

We believe in a connected nation, where every community is part of the great American story.

For it is in the work of connection that we discover the worth of every place, person, and possibility.

We are the American Connection Corps.

Year-Long Local Service

Members are placed in local organizations to build capacity, attract resources, and activate community engagement. ACC Members serve in nonprofits and local governments as “boots on the ground” to help ensure that federal and state investments are strategically reaching our nation’s most overlooked communities.

Quarterly Training Intensives

Members attend a world-class weeklong orientation, receive several trainings, and have national conference scholarship opportunities throughout the program year. Historically, these convenings have taken Members to Wichita (KS), the Land O’Lakes headquarters near Minneapolis (MN), and to summer graduation in Washington, D.C.

A Lifetime National Network of Alumni

ACC Members emerge from the program as more knowledgeable, committed leaders with the humble persistence to shape our country and the local communities they care most about.
