2024 marks the 36th year of this legacy award. In respect of both nominators and nominees, please review information below detailing the selection process for the Governor’s Exporter of the Year award, as well as the judging committee, the Kansas International Trade Coordinating Council (KITCC).
The Governor’s Exporter of the Year award is the highest honor for an exporting business in Kansas. The process from nomination to selection is eight months.

Honors of winning the Governor’s Exporter of the Year award:
The Kansas International Trade Coordinating Council (KITCC) is entrusted with handling the selection process for the Governor’s Exporter of the Year. The council consists of a diverse group of international business professionals, including past award recipient companies, as well as trade promotion specialists, trade facilitators and academics from business schools of higher education institutions across the state.
Working with the Kansas Department of Commerce, the KITCC meets several times in the year to review written applications, visit company sites and attend presentations prepared by finalist companies. This process is to ensure and identify the businesses that represent the best of exporting in Kansas by growing export sales, new international markets and pioneering innovative products.
