Job Responsibilities

This position is located in Community Based Services Program of the Child and Adolescent Program.  Will provide services for both Oconee and Pickens Counties of the Anderson-Oconee-Pickens Mental Health Center, 200 McGee Road, Anderson, SC 29625.

Multidimensional Family Therapy (MDFT) is a  family-centered, evidence-based, comprehensive treatment for teens and young adults. The MDFT program provides home and community-based services to teens and young adults and their families.  MDFT provides individual adolescent, parent, and family sessions to address youth substance use, delinquency, antisocial and aggressive behaviors, mental health disorders and school problems.  MDFT improves parental and family functioning in an effort to prevent out-of-home placement. This position will be responsible for providing therapeutic services to those identified families. Training in MDFT by model developers will be provided.

As a Mental Health Professional I -

1.  Provides evidence-based interventions and treatment services to identified patients and families. This will include but limited to: Individual, Group and Family therapy.  Maintain a valid SC driver’s license for the provision of community-based services.

  

2.  Maintain records, charts, and patient information in accordance with AOP/SCDMH and MDFT guidelines.

  

3.  Attend and participate in staff, supervision, and training meetings/seminars as assigned to maintain consistency and high quality of care for patients and their families. Must obtain and maintain MDFT certification. 


 4.  Perform other related duties as required.



Minimum and Additional Requirements

A master’s degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.  

Preferred:  A master's degree in guidance, counseling or the social sciences and one (1) year post master degree experience excluding internships. 






Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
