 A statewide electricity distribution specialist, serve as expert on very complex electrical distribution system performance and on the operation, maintenance, economic and regulatory factors affecting electrical distribution systems in Michigan subject to MPSC jurisdiction.  Electric distribution is a very complex specialty involving the economic, reliable and safe means of delivering electrical energy from transfer points to customers.  It includes such complex issues a severe weather service interruption, power quality problems, and Neutral to Earth Voltage.

Position Description

Required Education and Experience

Education 
Possession of a bachelor of science degree with a major in engineering.
 
Experience 
Four years of professional experience in public utilities engineering involving the analysis of utility rate structures, operations and safety standards and practices equivalent to a Public Utilities Engineer, including two years equivalent to a Public Utilities Engineer P11 or one year equivalent to a Public Utilities Engineer 12.

Vacation and Sick Leave: Eligible full-time employees receive between 15 and 35 personal days and 13 sick days per year that may be rolled over to the following year if not used. Eligible employees also receive an additional day each year for community service or school functions. 
 
Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leave immediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.
