Make your mark in public service. As an accredited public health department, we're seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Perinatal HIV Coordinator located in Atlanta, GA to join the Division of Medical and Clinical Services, Infectious Disease/HIV Section. Won't you join us?  

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and implement services/activities for the education and prevention of vertical transmission of HIV from mother to baby.
  • Develop and provide guidance to case managers, health educations, providers, etc. for best practices to identify cases of Perinatal HIV transmission
  • Abstract HIV/AIDS information from patient records, interview parents and/or service providers
  • Identify immediate needs of parents/family members to ensure coordination and referral for needed services
  • Identify and establish relationships with community-based organizations and other referring agencies to improve services provide to pregnant women and mothers living with HIV
  • Coordinate Perinatal HIV transmission and/or exposure case referrals 
  • Assist in recruiting/convening members of Committee to review perinatal cases and gaps in services
  • Assist in Data Entry and writing summary reports (as needed)
  • Serve as a liaison to disseminate data pertaining to Perinatal HIV to the Community and other stakeholders as needed
  • Participate in Ryan White (RW) Part B Quality Management (QM) Core Team and Case Management Subcommittee Meetings
  • Assist in the development of RW Part B and HIV Prevention QM goals, objectives and strategies related to perinatal HIV initiatives
  • Work collaboratively with HIV Surveillance, STD Office, Maternal & Child Health Office and other internal programs toward the enhancement and implementation of the strategic plan addressing the needs of Perinatal HIV in Georgia 
  • Share data and reports with RW Part B Program, HIV Prevention Program, HIV Surveillance and other programs as needed
  • Provide Perinatal HIV technical assistance and training as needed or indicated other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field and five years experience performing work related to area of assignment
OR
Master's degree in a related field and two years experience performing work related to area of assignment
OR
One year at the lower level or position equivalent.  

Note: Some positions may require licensure.

Preferred Qualifications: 
Preference will be given to applicants who in addition to meeting the minimum qualification possess the following: 
 

  • Master’s degree in public health, nursing or related field
  • At least 3 years case management experience in perinatal/women’s health services
  • Experience in program planning, development, implementation and evaluation
  • Community collaboration and coordination of service delivery
  • HIV/AIDS Experience
  • Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to effectively interface with internal and external senior leaders 
  • Ability to provide solutions based coaching, guidance and follow up with remote clients 
  • Excellent judgment and creative problem solving skills, specifically related to providing quality consultative services, change management and conflict resolution skills 
  • Ability to coach others to set priorities and define action plans and metrics  
  • Strong meeting planning and facilitation skills 
  • Analytical skills with ability to create relevant reports for a variety of stakeholders 
  • Able to work effectively in a high stress, changing environment
