The Position

Are you an experienced project manager who loves planning and is excited by an opportunity to explore creative ways to provide infrastructure? Beaverton has a cutting-edge community vision and solid plans for how to grow the city. We’re looking for someone with the technical know-how and project management experience to make those plans a reality.

And we have a great first project in mind!

The City of Beaverton is hiring a Capital Planning Project Manager to lead infrastructure planning and design for new neighborhoods in the Cooper Mountain area. This area includes the innovative and exciting McKernan Creek greenway: an important corridor that will include a sewer trunk line, an innovative resilient stream corridor and traditional stormwater solutions, trails, open space, and streets. The greenway will also be a signature feature of this growth area as its trails and open spaces run along McKernan Creek with views of Cooper Mountain Nature Park to the north and the Tualatin Valley River valley and Chehalem Mountains to the southwest.

The ideal candidate will:
  • Have experience with some or all of these areas: sewer lines, storm water, trails, rights of way.
  • Be familiar with crafting scopes of work and experienced in creating preliminary engineering designs
  • Be able to think about the big picture while solving practical implementation problems.
  • Have the ability to speak engineering and communicate with a variety of agencies and stakeholders.
  • Be experienced in hiring and supervising consultants.

While Cooper Mountain will be the initial focus of the position, this project manager will have many opportunities to work on a variety of implementation efforts in the future.

Please apply by submitting your work history and answers to supplemental questions through our application portal. No cover letter or resume required!

**This position was previously posted with the title "Project Manager - Infrastructure." This is a change of working title only; if you applied for that position, you do not need to reapply.**
