About this event

We all have those processes that slow us down. In a small business, time is limited! This engaging and hands-on workshop will teach you the basics of Lean process improvements. It is designed to provide you with tools and techniques that are practical and that can be used immediately to streamline processes and increase value to your customer.

Speakers:

Seth Gipson and Christina Richison, City of Georgetown Organizational & Operational Excellence Division

Bios:

Seth Gipson is the Performance Management Program (PMP) Manager for the City of Georgetown. He is part of the team that helped develop and manage the program since its creation. In addition to performance management, Seth works closely with the City’s Organizational Development Manager to assist with the implementation of the City’s Lean improvement program.

Seth joined the City in November 2017, as a Management Analyst in the City Manager’s Office. In that role, he worked in a variety of areas, including special district land development, project management, policy review and development, development fiscal impact modeling, managing the City’s PMP, as well as special projects.

Seth began his government career at the City of Hutto as a Budget Intern. During his tenure in Hutto, he served in several capacities with the last role being City Secretary. He was responsible for managing city council legislation, boards and commissions, records retention, open records, and elections. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and is currently working to become a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM).

Christina Richison is the Organizational Development Manager for the City of Georgetown. Christina works with a team of professionals to build change agents. Initiatives include organizational learning and development, business process improvement efforts, and performance management.

Prior to this, Christina operated a project management office for the Georgetown Utility Systems whereby she coached project managers through a variety of projects spanning the water, public works, and electric departments. Christina began her career in the private sector working for a large manufacturer in the semiconductor industry. It was through this experience that she was introduced to and immersed in project management and process improvement which ignited a passion for organizational excellence. Christina earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Learning and Development and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, both from the University of Texas at Austin. Additionally, she is a Project Management Professional (PMP), a Certified Scrum Master (CSM), and holds a certificate in Business Analysis.
