A Clean Energy Champion takes action to make the world a better place. Your actions can be big or small, but we at the Office of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (EERE) encourage every American to champion decarbonization and the benefits of clean energy to build a better tomorrow.

How You Can Be a Clean Energy Champion

Promote clean energy benefits. One of the best ways to promote the benefits of clean energy is by sharing facts and dispelling myths. You can also recruit friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors to become Clean Energy Champions. An easy place to start is following and resharing us on social media.

Invest in energy upgrades. Find out what technologies might be a good fit in your home through a home energy assessment. You can also make small changes that make a big difference in improving your home’s energy efficiency. For example:

Actively manage your home’s comfort with strategies like using a programmable thermostat and minimizing energy losses from air leaks.

Ask your state energy office how to apply for free home weatherization services, if you’re a low-income homeowner.

Government Building icon

Get federal, state, or local incentives or rebates for energy efficiency or renewable energy product upgrades.

Plan your clean energy future. Learn about infrastructure improvements and community energy programs in your neighborhood. You can also volunteer with organizations that work to bring environmental justice to communities that need a seat at the table in planning their renewable energy transition.

Join the clean energy workforce. There’s a job in renewable energy with your name on it. That job may be here at EERE!
