Eagle HealthWorks, an outpatient drug rehabilitation clinic will be opening in Byesville on Jan. 6.

"As overdose deaths continue to rise in underserved rural areas of Ohio, it is essential to establish an Eagle HealthWorks outpatient clinic in Guernsey County to treat people here and the surrounding communities, owner Dennis Eagleeye said. "Dependence on controlled substances like opioids (heroin, fentanyl, oxycodone, etc.), alcohol, stimulants (cocaine, crack, methamphetamine), and anti-anxiety medications (Xanax, Ativan, Klonopin) destroys individuals, families, businesses, and communities and we are here to help."

The clinic, located at 209 Seneca Ave. Suite A, will offer counseling, medicated assisted therapy, Narcan, hepatitis C testing and treatment and and drug/alcohol addiction treatment and nursing services.

The clinic will have an onsite lab for drug and blood testing and a doctors office.

Eagle HealthWorks opened it's first site in Perry County when they couldn't find a space for one in Guernsey County.

According to Eagleeye about 20% of the approximate 120 patients at the Perry location come from Guernsey County. So he realized they needed to find space and open a location in Guernsey County.

Eagleeye said he anticipates being able to serve about 200 patients at the Byesville location and expects that they will also come from Noble and Monroe counties as well as Guernsey.

Eagleeye noted that with the surge in COVID cases, if there should be another shut-down they are equipped to do therapy and treatment through Tele-health, but he prefers patients do in person visits.

The clinic is currently set up for self-admission, but would be willing to work with the court system to take court mandated clients.

According to Eagleeye, the clinic will be staffed with credentialed professionals who can treat individuals with substance use disorders and and help them avoid relapses and sickness associated with dependence and withdrawal and help them develop clear pathways to healthy living.

Eagleeye describes Eagle HealthWorks as an "Ohio-based integrated substance abuse treatment organization focusing on medical care and therapy to help people achieve positive outcomes for healthy living including eventual abstinence. We are public-spirited citizens understanding that prosperous communities start with healthy residents."
