The Emergency Preparedness Program is responsible for individual and community preparedness, and planning for public health emergencies including man-made and natural disasters.

Siskiyou County Public Health, in collaboration with the Siskiyou County Office of Emergency Services, have developed an Emergency Preparedness Guide to help prepare to keep you and your family safe in the event of an emergency. Access & Functional Needs Registry

The Access and Functional Needs (AFN) registry is a comprehensive database designed to identify and track individuals who may require additional assistance during emergencies or disasters due to their specific access and functional needs. These needs may arise from various factors such as physical, sensory, cognitive, or developmental disabilities, chronic illnesses, language barriers, or limited mobility.

The registry serves as a tool for emergency management agencies, first responders, and service providers to proactively identify and prioritize resources for those who require specialized assistance.

The AFN registry aims to enhance preparedness, response, and recovery efforts by facilitating effective communication, coordination, and support for individuals with unique needs, ensuring their equitable access to emergency services, and promoting their overall resilience in the face of disasters.

Participation in the Access & Functional Needs Registry is completely voluntary. Information submitted is strictly confidential and will only be used in the event of an emergency.

ReadySiskiyou-Alerts

To receive emergency alerts from Siskiyou County, register with ReadySiskiyou-Alerts (Smart911). This system provides you with critical information quickly in a variety of situations, such as severe weather, unexpected road closures, and evacuations of buildings or neighborhoods. You will receive time-sensitive messages wherever you specify, such as your home, mobile or business phone, email address, text messages, and more.

Include your address during registration to prevent receiving alerts that are not relevant to your area. Also, make sure to select your preferred language for receiving alerts.

Disaster Healthcare Volunteers of California

The Disaster Healthcare Volunteers (DHV) of California is a statewide system to pre-identify and credential volunteer medical and health workers for deployment in disaster response and recovery activities.
