Emirates has announced its full U.S. leadership team roster with the appointment of Matthew Jones, regional sales director East and Central and Sean Campbell, commercial operations manager.

As part of the new team roster, Akbar Hussain, Emirates’ regional sales director West and Central, will now have a wider portfolio, managing all Emirates’ sales across the diverse and critically important central region in addition to the West. Akbar’s new position will be Emirates’ Regional Sales Director of the West and Center.

Jones, Campbell and Hussain will join Essa Sulaiman Ahmad, Emirates’ divisional vice president and Andrew Bunn, Emirates’ vice president of sales, who continue to drive Emirates’ commercial operations in the U.S, delivering on its expansion and growth plans.

Jones will oversee Emirates’ sales activities across key regions in the U.S., including the North East, South East, Mid-Atlantic as well as parts of the Mid-West. In this new role, he will manage a team of Commercial Account Managers responsible for existing partnerships and the development of new revenue opportunities across all agency and corporate sales. Prior to his appointment, Jones held multiple strategic positions at a variety of top brands across the travel and aviation industry, including Qantas Airways, Air Berlin, Tourism Victoria, Stella Travel Services, Newmans Vacations and Qantas Vacations.

Campbell will be responsible for all support functions, including travel agency support, group sales, sales steering, trade communications and special services as well as all reservation and ticketing matters. He will also manage the development and continued roll out of Emirates’ recently launched ‘Emirates Partner’ portal.

“We are so excited to welcome a new generation of leaders to oversee Emirates’ operations in North America, strengthening our leadership team and capabilities in the U.S.,” said Salem Obaidalla, senior vice president, commercial operations. “As we continue to reopen gateways and increase capacity across key markets in the U.S., we are confident that this leadership team will be well-suited to take the airline even further in one of our most important international markets.”
