COMMON QUESTIONS

  • I already have an insurance. Why is it still recommended?

Many foreign insurers don't cover quarantine costs if you test positive and tend to restrict COVID-19 coverage if and when the CDC or your country's Public Health Department issues a high (negative) travel warning.

In addition, if there's a sudden COVID-19 outbreak in Aruba, the local medical providers won't have time to deal with foreign insurers and the many different types of policy conditions. By centralizing the insurance system, all visitors can be assisted instantly and won't have many, if any, out-of-pocket expenses.

  • Where and when can I purchase the insurance?

The insurance can only be purchased within 7 days before you departure date at https://www.arubavisitorsinsurance.com/application.

  • How do I pay for the insurance?

You can pay for the insurance using a credit card or a debit card with the Visa or MasterCard logo on it. Residents of the Netherlands can use iDEAL to pay for the insurance.

  • What will appear on my Statement?

After you've made the purchase you will see a payment made to Koral Systems under the title KS* ARUBA-INSURANCE-00 (Previously ARUBA-123). The last digits indicate the transaction number.

  • Where can I seek help?

If you’re already in Aruba and you have a fever, dry cough, shortness of breath or a combination of any of the known COVID-19 symptoms, please inform guest relations at your hotel so they can call the COVID-19 Call Center. If you’re not staying at a hotel, please proceed to call the COVID-19 Call Center at +297 280-0505. Based on your symptoms you will receive professional guidance and medical advice. Do not go to the ER or a general practitioner if you have these symptoms. Stay inside and call before you act.

  • Do I have to make the claim?

Once you’ve called the helpline, the Assistance Center will notify the insurer directly to ensure that your case is handled accordingly. You may later be asked to complete a short online form to confirm your health status but you don’t have to go through the hassle of making a claim or asking for reimbursements.

  • How do I receive my policy?

As soon as you’ve completed the application form and payment, you will instantly receive an email with your policy documents attached.

  • Does the Aruba Visitors Insurance cover other ailments?

The first version of the Aruba Visitors Insurance only covers COVID-19 related expenses.

  • When does the Aruba Visitors Insurance start and end?

The coverage provided under this insurance starts the moment you disembark in Aruba and expires at 11:59 pm Atlantic Standard Time on the end date specified on the policy schedule or the moment you embark a plane to leave Aruba, whichever occurs first.

  • Who covers the insurance?

The insurance is covered by a syndicate of locally licensed insurers, Elvira Verzekeringen N.V., CG United Insurance Aruba N.V., Ennia Caribe Schade (Aruba) N.V. and reinsured by A++ AM Best Rated Reinsurers.
