Berlin, and the Berlin Planetarium Foundation are pleased to present the documentary

The conversation between filmmaker Jan Millsapps, producer of MADAME MARS, German astrophysicist Dr. Suzanna Randall, and Anna Green, Berlin Planetarium Foundation, will focus on the story of space exploration as a feminist issue, connecting the original space age that denied opportunities to women, to current Mars initiatives that still lack a full commitment to diversity.
The film screening and the discussion will be in English.
FILM SYNOPSIS: As a new space age dawns, have women come far enough to go farther than they ever have before? MADAME MARS tells the story of the challenges women have faced while trying to study and explore Mars, from early space age pioneers to those currently working to get humans to Mars. MADAME MARS is populated by accomplished, intelligent and curious women who not only share the dream of finding one’s own place in space, but also a commitment to the ensuring that humanity will represent itself accurately and completely as we take our next big step out into the universe. MADAME MARS hopes that once we arrive, the first footstep on Mars may just as easily be made by a woman as by a man.
