Compilation of Information about Children's Rights in Drug Treatment Programmes.
In spite of recent advances in the design of drug treatment programmes, an important issue remains unresolved: responding adequately to the needs of children while parents receive treatment. Since treatment approaches are centred on adults, children are not considered as an integral part of the recovery process. Moreover, many women choose not to enter treatment because most services are not family-centred, a design flaw that engenders a gender barrier that directly impacts the rights of the child.

We'd like to contribute to filling this gap by gathering information about how children’s needs are being addressed in adult drug treatment programmes, and by identifying ways of promoting family-centred services respectful of the needs of children, and  based on a child rights perspective.
To this end, we have developed an online survey addressed to treatment professionals. We would be grateful if you could fill out the survey (it will take you about 15 minutes) by the 15th of June. The survey is available in English, Spanish and French.

This survey is an adaptation from the original document "Perception and performance of professional teams from drug treatment network on parenting of people who use drugs" created by Paulo Padilla-Petry, Nuria Fuentes-Peláez, Francesc Martínez-Olmo, Gemma Crous Parcerisas, Julio Rodríguez, and Anna Fantova (University of Barcelona, 2020).
