  • female-soldierThe South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce provides Job Seeker services for veterans, transitioning service members, and eligible spouses.

SC Works Online Services is the official South Carolina state labor exchange system. If you are a Job Seeker looking for employment, we invite you to take advantage of our online job search and referral services.

One way South Carolina recognizes Veterans Priority is by requiring a 24-hour “Vet Hold” on each new internal job order in SC Works Online Services. Jobs in “Vet Hold” status can be viewed by individuals classified as veterans 24 hours prior to individuals not classified as veterans, and staff can refer only veterans to these jobs. They are open to qualified vets and non- vets after the 24-hour vet hold expires.

Also, the SC Works Online Services Virtual Recruiter allows you to create a Job Alert, to notify you when jobs meeting your criteria become available. You can configure the Virtual Recruiter by registering an SC Works Veterans Portal account, logging in, and visiting Job Seeker Services. If you already have an SC Works Online Services account, use that login information.

SC Works Veterans Portal offers additional privileges. Depending on your needs, there are several ways to find employment:

    • Job Search
    • Job Fairs
    • Career Center Visit

Job Searches provide a self-service opportunity for you to view job listings and apply online.

Job Fairs provide the opportunity to meet potential employers face-to-face, make a great first impression, and to ask questions about the job.

The SC Works Career Center Search at the top of this page provides the opportunity to connect with training and benefits resources in your immediate area. Use the search tool to learn what services your location provides.
