Beginning February 1, United Way of Northern New Jersey offers low- and moderate-income families and individuals three ways to file their state and federal tax returns for free. By using our tax preparation and filing services, households save hundreds in tax preparer fees. (Businesses and landlords are not eligible.) Whichever option you choose, our IRS tax law-certified volunteers are here to help ensure you claim all the credits you are eligible for and get back what you are owed. Assistance in Spanish is available through our online portal, when using our free software, and at limited drop-off and in-person appointments.
