Making an Impact
The five impact areas of focus at OATS and Senior Planet are advocacy, social engagement, financial security, health, and creativity. Here's a quick round-up of some of our biggest impact-focused initiatives of the year!
Advocacy
Raising Hell NPR's Sam Sanders moderated this thought-provoking panel discussion featuring some of America’s most influential older adult activists. From racial equity to environmental justice, we explored the intersection of modern civic movements and how older adults are at the center of social change.
Seniors In Play - Virtual Acting Led by actor Tony Plana, older adults moved their acting classes online in collaboration with Senior Planet San Antonio. From beginners to seasoned players, participants rehearsed and performed together using Zoom.
Online Banking with Zelle® With banks closing or limiting hours, older adults needed a safe and easy way to manage their money from home. We partnered with Zelle to provide weekly classes on P2P mobile payments and articles on topics like scam protection.
