This urban area-based reference map series includes a map for each urbanized area (UA) and urban cluster (UC) defined as a result of the 2010 Census (refer to the 2010 Census Urban and Rural Classification and Urban Area Criteria webpage for more information). These maps display the boundaries, names and codes of urban areas, along with the boundaries and names of federal American Indian reservations, off-reservation trust lands (ORTLs), Alaska Native areas, Hawaiian home lands, states, counties, county subdivisions (in states where they function as governmental units), and places. Additionally, these maps display a base feature network including roads, railroads, and water bodies. These features are labeled as map scale permits. Each entity is covered by one or more map sheets at a single scale. An index map showing the sheet configuration is included for all entities requiring more than one sheet. The map sheet size is 36 by 32 inches.
The total number of map sheets is listed next to each entity name. In instances where there is only one map sheet for a given entity, the map link will open the PDF map file directly through your web browser. In instances where an entity consists of more than one map sheet, the link opens to a directory that contains all of the maps sheets for that entity.
For urban areas in Puerto Rico, the maps are provided in both English and Spanish. The Spanish versions can be found in a subdirectory called "Spanish" in each UA's directory.
