Cannabinoid Hemp Database

Building data to support decisions.

hemp growing in field

Industrial hemp is one of the newest crops in Midwestern fields, but high demand has outpaced available data.

Since it is a fairly new practice, there is plenty of room for advancement through cooperative learning. The Midwestern Hemp Database leverages grower-collaborator networks to provide research supported regional insight into agronomic performance and cannabinoid development of industrial hemp varieties.

Field samples and data are submitted by regional growers and university researchers who apply to participate in exchange for discounted cannabinoid profiling for CBC, CBD, CBG, CBN, and THC through our generous lab partners. That information is then made available to the public in the below database.

Project Collaborators

This project is made possible with proud collaboration between University of Illinois (Dr. D.K. Lee), University of Wisconsin-Madison (Phillip Alberti), Dr. Shelby Ellison), Michigan State University Extension (Dr. James Dedecker), Purdue University Extension (Marguerite Bolt), Michael Fields Agricultural Institute (Esther Shekinah), Pride Analytics & Consulting, and Rock River Laboratory Inc.

A special thank you goes to the more than 180 grower-collaborators who have submitted field samples to the project, and to Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) for project support provided through two Partnership Grants.
