Request for Proposals: EV Charging Study
The Office of Mobility and Electrification (OFME) is issuing this Request for Proposals (RFP) for funding of up to $100,000 to interested parties to complete an EV charging infrastructure study. The partner will structure the approach, collect necessary data, validate assumptions, complete a model, interview stakeholders for alignment, and develop lessons learned to estimate charging infrastructure needs in the state of Michigan. This report will be completed on behalf Michigan’s Office of Future Mobility and Electrification.
Proposals in response to this RFP are due by 5:00 p.m. on April 23, 2024 to BariS2@michigan.gov.
MI Future Mobility Plan
Unveiled during the 2022 Detroit Auto Show, Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced a new statewide strategy to ensure Michigan remains the global leader in the future of mobility. The MI Future Mobility Plan maps out a comprehensive strategy that addresses future mobility challenges by growing the mobility workforce, providing more accessible transportation infrastructure, and developing innovative mobility policies.
Developed by OFME, the Council on Future Mobility and Electrification (CFME) and other State of Michigan partners, the plan is an actionable next step to address the opportunities and challenges that Michigan faces in remaining a leader in the mobility and electrification revolution.

MEDC has helped Michigan build on its automotive roots to become a hotbed for high-tech mobility startups. Its holistic ecosystem development in aligning Michigan's workforce with the demands of the state’s evolving mobility industry, earned MEDC honors in The Startup Ecosystem Stars Awards in their Top Talent & Research category (among 12 other entities). Additionally, Michigan's Office of Future Mobility and Electrification was named among 40 select organizations in the Stars Community.

2023 CFME Report Highlights Policy Changes to Help Ensure Michigan's Leadership in Global Mobility
The Michigan Council on Future Mobility and Electrification (CFME) has released a set of key policy recommendations to help the state remain the global leader in next-generation transportation. The recommendations are featured in the council’s 2023 annual report and are designed to help achieve the goals outlined in Gov. Whitmer’s MI Future Mobility Plan, an actionable road map for Michigan to set new global standards for economic development, workforce, energy and infrastructure.
