Fall 2021 at the Tang

Welcome back!

The Tang is excited to welcome Skidmore students, faculty, staff, and the general public back to the Museum! See safety guidelines below.

Open hours for the fall semester (from September 9 through December 19):

  • Thursdays noon to 9 pm

  • Fridays noon to 5 pm

  • Saturdays noon to 5 pm

  • Sundays noon to 5 pm

Admission to the Museum is free. Visitors of all ages are welcome.

The Museum will be closed Thursday, November 25, and Friday, November 26, and will reopen at noon on Saturday, November 27.

Safety guidelines

  • All visitors 12 and older must be fully vaccinated.

  • Visitors will be asked to show proof of vaccination, such as a vaccination card, a copy or photo of a vaccination card, or the Excelsior Pass.

  • All visitors are required to wear masks, regardless of vaccination status.

  • If you are showing any COVID-19 symptoms, please postpone your visit for another time.

Research

Skidmore students, faculty, and staff conducting research or preparing for classes can make appointments to visit exhibitions and the Tang collection.

  • Contact Kara Jefts, Collections Registrar, at kjefts@skidmore.edu about the Tang collection.

Please make your appointment at least 24 hours in advance of your visit.

FAQs

Is the Museum open to anyone?
Yes. We welcome members of the public who follow the safety guidelines above.

Will there be any public events?
Yes! This fall we will have both in-person events in the Museum and online events. Please check our calendar for event updates.

Can I bring my community group/school group/home-school group to the Museum for a tour/art-making activity?
Not at this time. Check out our new Tang at Home page for at-home art-making activities. For more information, please contact Sunny Ra, The Laurie M. Tisch Educator for K-12 and Community Programs, via email at at sra@skidmore.edu.
