Minimum Qualifications One year of service as a Facility Operations Assistant 1 or Motor Vehicle Operator; OR, two years of full-time, verifiable experience in custodial, grounds, or maintenance operation or assisting in a journey-level trade. When required to operate motor vehicles, incumbents must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle being operated.

Duties Description This position will report to a seasonal recreational facility located in Hamilton County from on or about May 15 through October 15 from 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM with pass days of Tuesday and Wednesday. The candidate(s) will be assigned to the Indian Lake Maintenance Shop or Northville Maintenance shop from 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM for the remainder of the year with pass days of Saturday and Sunday.

Duties will include customer registration, daily cleaning and sanitizing of comfort stations and shower buildings, refuse pick up and removal, and assisting Trades Generalist in seasonal start up and shut down of facilities. Tasks performed after the open camping season will include hazardous tree removal, campsite restoration projects and facilities remodel and rehabilitation. Additional related duties as assigned.

Additional Comments Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain Must be able to work in remote areas. Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions. Travel may be required. Overtime may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required. Must be available for emergency response. Must be available to respond to after-hours emergencies. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds. Actual work schedule, duties and travel requirements may vary and will be discussed at the interview.
