Police Arrest Suspect in Downtown Homicide (Updated)

UPDATE 3/23:

On Tuesday morning, SPD Robbery Detectives and SPD’s SWAT Team, along with members of the FBI and the US Marshals Service Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force arrested the suspect in this homicide. The 44-year-old man is also a suspect in multiple robberies in and around Seattle, including a February bank robbery where an employee was shot. Detectives interviewed the suspect and then booked him into the King County Jail for homicide and multiple counts of robbery.

Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed Downtown on Sunday afternoon. 

At 12:28 p.m., police responded to 3rd Avenue and Pine Street for reports of a shooting. Officers arrived and found a man with gunshot wounds in the 200 300 block of Pine Street. Officers and Seattle Fire Department medics attempted lifesaving measures, but the man was declared deceased at the scene.

Members of SPD’s Crime Scene Investigation Unit have responded to collect evidence and process the scene.
