About this event

Join the California School-Based Health Alliance and the Regional Educational Laboratory West for a free virtual event to provide Central Valley educators and health and mental health practitioners with skills and guidance to prevent suicide among children and youth in the region.

With recent increases in depression and suicidal ideation among young people in the Central Valley, this event is designed to support youth-serving adults as they work in the current context of an ongoing pandemic, social unrest, and isolation. Learn from state and local leaders who will share practical information and resources for understanding, responding to, and preventing youth suicide.

Our Mission

The California School-Based Health Alliance aims to improve the health and academic success of children and youth by advancing health services in schools.

Our Goals

Healthy Children. Too many children come to school every day suffering from conditions that seriously impact their ability to learn and succeed.

Successful Students. Healthy students miss fewer classes, are less likely to drop out and have a better chance of success in school and beyond.

Equity and Access. School-based health centers (SBHCs) offer services in a place that is familiar, trusted, age-appropriate, and convenient for all students and families – in school.
