WHAT is a Research Rendezvous Workshop?
Students get individualized one-to-one help from librarians, CU history dept. faculty, grad students, regional historians, and community experts. Students are paired with mentors in 30-minute sessions.
Students can request help with research sources, thesis writing, or just get feedback on their project.

SPECIAL EVENT PRESENTATION: Interviews as a Primary Source
- Tuesday Dec. 5th at 5:00 p.m. CARNEGIE LIBRARY FOR LOCAL HISTORY
- Discover National History Day topics in your backyard at Carnegie Library for Local History!
- Archivists will be available to discuss ideas for a local slant on this year's theme and to answer questions about research with primary sources.
- Special presentation at 5 p.m. Learn how to create your own primary sources by conducting interviews with people who have firsthand knowledge.

What’s the Difference Between a Thesis and a Topic Sentence?

- Calling all National History Day participants! This twenty-minute zoom presentation provides an introduction to academic writing and the central role played by a strong thesis, followed by Q&A.
- Everyone knows what a topic sentence is, right? But what is a thesis statement and what is the difference between a thesis and a topic sentence?
- What kinds of questions might a thesis answer?
- How does a provisional thesis guide the discovery process and how might it evolve throughout the discovery process?
